Sisyphus
Acylic and ink on multiple layers of plexiglass
18"x18"
$600
Sisyphus is titled after the Greek mythological figure. He was sentenced by the gods to spend eternity rolling a rock up a hill, only for it to roll down again. A pointless and absurd task that accomplishes nothing. Sisyphus has become the absurd hero in contemporary philosophy. Albert Camus states that, all of our lives amount to nothing in an indifferent universe. The only thing that matters is our own personal experience. One must think of Sisyphus as happy in his task. He is committed to every nuance and detail of his burden.
